Miserable

That would explain my sweet baby Abigail for the last 36 hours or so.

Which means I have been too.

Constant screaming, no sleeping, and one Destin Urgent Care trip later....Abigail has her first double ear infection.  She started antibiotics last night and has been on tylenol around the clock and none has made ONE DIFFERENCE.  She seriously screamed, screeched, arched her back, and did not sleep for most of the night.  Fun times.  Sorry to my MIL who Jeff has not had a chance to call about this (I know you don't like reading things like this on the blog).

Also last night, while I was at the condo alone (Jeff and kids were at one of our meetings) Abigail had been seriously screaming (not just wimper crying, but serious screaming) for nearly an hour when all of sudden she started choking and couldn't catch her breath.  It was only a few seconds before she kind of spit up some mucous and drool and then she was totally calm...but it was SO scary.  It has just been so sad to see my normally happy all the time baby crying out in pain and looking at me like "please fix it mommy." I have never seen a child be so miserable.  I think last night was pretty much one of the worst in my life.  I would rather go through labor and delivery 10 times over than do what I did last night.

We have to make the drive back to T-town today so please pray for us that Abigail would not scream the whole way.  I'm really hoping that the amoxicillin will kick in after this morning's dose.

Beach Fun

We are at the beach and having a blast! At the end of each April, we have a conference down in Seagrove, FL where all the staff with Campus Crusade in our region come together to celebrate and align with God's calling as we minister to college students all over the southeast. It's one of my favorite things we get to do!!!!

The view from our condo

Ellie Kate played in the sand mostly and then went up to take a nap

Samuel dove right in, literally and played for hours!

Abigail slept for a little while in our little tent, and then got fussy (very unlike her) so she didn't spend much time on the beach

look at those delicious baby legs!

I couldn't resist a few more of her hanging out in the condo this morning

Family Beach Photos

Jeff just loves when I want to take beach pictures (can't you just hear my sarcasm)! BUT, we always get some cute pictures even though it is a hassle sometimes.

Here is our attempt at some family pics. There were 4 ladies from our church at our condo and they were down at the beach when we went to take pictures so they helped us try to get a decent family pictures (always a challenge)! Don't forget, you can click on the collage pictures to make them bigger.

Here are a few that turned out pretty good

And of course, I had to try to get some of all 3 kids!

This Just Cracks Me Up!

Abigail has a new face everytime I pull out the camera.  I mean EVERYTIME.  It's hilarious!

Last night, Abigail got her first haircut! The hair over her ears and in the back was a bit out of control.  I just shaped it up some so it looked more even with the front hair growth.  She looks so cute if I do say so myself!

Future Contestants???

So, this was a few weeks ago, but I keep forgetting to post the pics. One night while watching American Idol, the kids decided to sing along (with a broken off microphone from a play piano). They got really into it and were singing their hearts out. It was so cute!!!

Speaking of Idol...who is your favorite?

I have liked Danny from the beginning, but Kris is really growing on me. I really liked his song last night. I seriously LOVE American Idol. It's pretty much the only tv show I watch anymore. This season has been one of my favorites so far. In fact, I informed Jeff that I wanted to see the Idols Live tour when it comes to Bham. We saw them in Atlanta a few years ago and it was so fun!!!

By the way, thanks for all the encouragement and ideas after my last post! I appreciate all your prayers and I really appreciate knowing I am not alone in my struggles as a mom!!!!

Monday Randomness

The girls are sleeping so of course I am on the computer. I mean, it's not like I don't have a house that needs to be cleaned up, or bags to be unpacked from our trip to Atlanta. Ha!

Samuel has been having some issues lately that have us frustrated and honestly I really don't know the best way to handle what's going on.

I need to look up some stuff on the internet as I'm wondering if some of it has to do with his adoption. He has all of a sudden developed some intense fears of being alone and of us leaving him. I mean it is unrealistic hysterics if he thinks we have left him or we are out of his sight for one second. It happens in the middle of the night...it happened at the zoo...it happened when he and my dad were playing outside...it happens if we discipline him with a time out...you get the idea. I'm not sure where it's coming from or what triggered it, but it's here and if any of you have advice or wisdom then please help me out!

Abigail has shown us that she is really a sensitive baby. She is so sweet, and as we have said before is much more laid back, even shy at times, than my other two.

This past weekend, we were at several events where there were big groups of people and lots of noise. She just got so overwhelmed and would stick that sweet little bottom lip out and let it quiver, and then she just cried and whimper off and on. It was so pitiful. EK was NOT ever like that. It is so interesting to me to see Abigail's personality develop.

Ellie Kate continues to be her sassy, spunky, two year old self. We get lots of this...
and this
To be honest...disciplining her consitently has been a challenge. She doesn't listen or obey and is most definitely not a compliant child! She wants what she wants and she usually wants it right then or scenes like the above pictures will happen. All of this is why she will stay in her crib until she is 12 year old (ha!) and why I have been putting off potty training. On the flip side...she is hilarious and so much fun. Her vocabulary and language just continues to explode and she follows Samuel around doing whatever he does. She is too big for her britches that's for sure...and very strong willed.

So, what is your favorite book on child rearing? On discipline?

Okay, moving on from my kids.

I seriously love shopping at these 2 stores...

The past few months, I have been really trying to learn the system of getting things for free, or nearly free and using coupons effectivelly during grocery shopping. I shop at CVS and have their Extra Care card. The past month, I have gotten very good at barely spending anything out of pocket. I have stocked up on toothpaste, razors, shampoo, formula, diapers, baby wipes, and more using thier ECB (extra care bucks) program. Today, I had one of my best trips to Publix, spending $81 and saving $59. My goal is to get to only spending $75 (or less hopefully) a week at the grocery store. I know I can do it with careful meal planning and couponing. I used to spend $125-$150 easily every week.

What are your favorite sites that help you save money on groceries, baby stuff, etc?

(by the way, my questions are not rhetorical...I really want to know...so answer in the comment section if you can)

Zoo Atlanta

Since Samuel was on spring break last week, we came to Atlanta for a few days. On Friday, we went to the zoo. It was the first time for any of the kids and they loved it! It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun seeing all the animals. Ellie Kate thought she was big stuff because she got to walk around with Samuel. Abigail was her usual, happy, easy self and stayed in her carrier most of the time.

Looking at the alligator

Enjoying the petting zoo

Miss Abigail hanging out in the stroller....as usual

At the end of our time, my mom and the older kids rode the train...Ellie Kate declared it was "awesome"

A tired crew, after a fun day

Keep scrolling down as I did separate posts for our favorite exhibits!
