6 Months Already?

Well, as you can tell she is OBSESSED with her toes!

I feel like these pictures just capture Abigail's sweet and fun personality.  I am so in love with this precious baby and truly thank God for her everyday.  Ahhhh...she is just such a joy!

And, I honestly can't believe we are half way through her first year (sniff, sniff).  It's going way to fast and I'm trying to enjoy every moment with her!

KEEP READING FOR A POTTY TRAINING UPDATE BELOW.....

More Potty Training Diaries

Day 3 Summary:  BREAKTHROUGH day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

# of accidents before 11 am: 4
# of accidents after 11 am: 0!!!!! (if you don't count peeing in her pull up during her 3 hour nap)
# of correct uses in the potty (both pee-pee and poop) - 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am soooooooooo proud of Ellie Kate.  She finally got it today and I am most proud that she peed and pooped in the potty all on her own initiative.  I was about to give up this morning but then it's like it just all clicked.  I know we will still have accidents and we have a ways to go, but I am just so glad she is getting it!

Thanks everyone for all your encouragement and advice!

Potty Training Diaries

DAY 1 summary: mama might give up

# of accidents on our floor before 11 am : 4

# of successful potty uses: it would be stretch to say 1

Then I gave in and put the pull up on (I had her in training panties) and then I lost count of how many accidents we had in the pull up.  I would put her on the potty and she would try and then 5 seconds later have an accident.  Remember she is not compliant and is strong willed so getting her to stay on the potty until she actually goes is quite the challenge, as you can tell.

So, I'm in a bad mood now.  I'm so frustrated that nothing is easy with Ellie Kate.

I really feel like I need to get her trained now before we have to go to Colorado for our summer training (we'll be gone June and July).  When we get back, school starts and our schedule is CRAZY so it would be hard to find time to really devote to training her.

So....lurkers, strangers, friends, family, ANYONE who has an opinion....please give me any encouragement, tips, advice, strategies, etc. to help this little girl get it.

At least she's cute...

I still LOVE my camera....

and have taken...oh...about 2000 pictures since we got it!!!

I also love Adobe Lightroom.  I downloaded a free trial of it and it's so fun...I don't know what I'm going to do when it runs out.  iphoto on our Mac computer is good, but not nearly as great as Lightroom.  Anywhoo....here are some more pics of my cuties!

Look who is almost sitting up! Abigail was kind of shocked at herself yesterday when she did this for about 30 seconds.

I love this picture

...but then I got to thinking.  Y'all must think she sits in that rainforest bouncy seat all the time (and, well, you're kinda right) since most of my pictures of her are in that thing!  So, I got her out and sat her on our patio chairs to get a different angle of her.  Isn't she just eatable?

The many faces of my silly Ellie Kate

Ellie Kate loves to get in Abigail's things all the time!  She got this Bible dictionary off our shelf and was really into it.  Seriously.  Maybe we have a theologian on our hands:)

Samuel wouldn't really stop his work for a picture but I did snap one good one.  And yes, he was "working" outside in his Alabama football uniform.  Gotta love that!

Another FUN post below!!!!!

Fun on the Mac

We love Mac computers at our house!  Samuel and I just had a fun time being silly using photobooth.  Here are the pics and videos we took!

Show Us Where You Live Friday

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is hosting a fun Friday blog thing called Show Us Where You Live Friday!  I love seeing other people's homes and how they decorate so this is right up my alley!

Today's edition is the Kitchen.

I'll start off by saying, I don't love my kitchen.  We bought our house last July and there is still a lot of stuff I would love to do to update it (it's about 20 years old) and one of my dreams is a kitchen redo.  I love the amount of space I have, I just don't love the quality of my cabinets or my countertops, or the yellow walls. One day.  Maybe.

Okay, so here are the pics.  We just happened to be hosting a party for our Sunday School class tonight so my kitchen was all nice and clean:)

entry off the garage where all our bag and junk go

blue plates from my grandmother

elephant tray we received as a wedding gift...we are Alabama fans after all!

think I need to clean out my pantry...yikes!
and don't ask me why there is a bottle of pledge wood floor cleaner in the pantry...I am the mom of 3 small children so sometimes I put things places they don't really belong

my kitchen table does not normally look like this, but I had it decorated a little bit for our party

the television in the kitchen is a lifesaver sometimes!  ignore ellie kate's flonase sitting out on the counter (if I put it up, I forget to give it to her)...and ignore our junky fridge:)

I really like the tile backsplash, I just don't think it stands out enough with the boring cabinets and countertops

and finally, our brick floor that everyone raves about when they walk in the kitchen...it is nice to look at,  but let's just say, I need to see a foot doctor after living here for less than a year!

Hope you enjoyed your tour of my kitchen!
