Happy Birthday Abigail!

My little baby is growing up!  She is 2 years old today and I am having a hard time grasping that my munchkin is not really a baby anymore.  Abigail is so precious even though she is beginning to embrace the wonderful world of 2!!

Tantrums are common, but so are lots of hugs and kisses and sweet obedience.  It has been refreshing for me to finally have a child who does not exhibit a strong will in the midst of normal age appropriate behavior (that can be exhausting on it's own)!  Favorite phrases uttered by Abigail are "What's That?", "I DO IT!!", and "No".   She loves playing with babies, princesses, dressing up, stuffed animals, Curious George, reading books, and being with mama:).   She's really sweet on her daddy too! Abigail also really does love her big brother and sister although she is beginning to hold her own with Ellie Kate.  The girls have a hard time sharing with Abigail usually being the one who lovingly gives in and lets her sister have her way.  She is absolutely the sweetest thing on earth and we are as head over heels in love with our youngest as we ever were.  As sad as I am that she is exiting the world of babyhood, it is so fun to watch her explore and mature into a talkative, energetic toddler!  Abigail knows a lot of her colors, some of her letters, and most of her friends names.  She loves to color and recently has really enjoyed drawing circles on everything.   She really wants to be a big girl like Ellie Kate so she asks to go tothe potty some but we aren't pushing the training since I am STILL worn out from training said big sister! Ha!

We chose Abigail's name from the Bible (just like Samuel and Ellie Kate's) because it means "my father's joy" or "source of joy." She was our joy after the mourning (of miscarriage).  Abigail has given us such joy every day and I am so thankful to be her mama!

Of Abigail, the Bible records: "she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance" (1 Sam. 25:3).  Click HERE to go to a site that gives a good summary of Abigail's story in the Bible.  Or read the entire story in 1 Samuel 25.

We truly do pray for our own sweet Abigail that she would grow to be a woman of strength and integrity who is a source of great joy to those around her.  Also, that she would be a woman of good understanding...a wise woman who follows hard after her Lord.
