Dining Room Edition!!!
Visit Kelly's Korner to see other rooms
I'm posting a bit early since tomorrow is a busy day!
Welcome and enjoy the tour and let me know if you stopped by...
I really love having a dining room and we actually use it quite a bit. I LOVE to have people over and entertain and cook for them! The cleaning up afterwards part...not so much. Anyway, I got the table and chairs for my 30th birthday last year and am so thankful for such a wonderful gift! I had been dreaming of a formal dining room for a long time. That said, I still really want to get a buffet and/or china cabinet to add to the room at some point.
I love my table and dried hydrangeas (my sweet mother in law gave them to me)
So, this might be my favorite piece of furniture in the entire house. It's a very old armoire from my grandparents. In our home in Georgia, it housed our big tv and was showcased in the family room. Now that we have moved into this house and have the built in bookshelves I don't feel like this beautiful piece is being used and shown off like I want it to.
HELP! Any ideas on how to better use this in my house?
By the way, it's huge and heavy and hard to move!
Here is what's in it right now. Ha!!!!

very lovely and the armoire is gorgeous
I love your dining room, so pretty and I love your style!! The armoire is beautiful!! So are the drapes!!
LOVE that armoire!!
I love the hardwood floors! And the armoire. Hmmm, could it be set at an angle in the corner to make it more of a focal point in the room? With maybe some decorative baskets on top? I like the little chair that is next to it too, looks like another antique.
Thanks for the tour!

What a fabulous room. I've got some great ideas for my own place now. thank you xxx
I really love the dried hydrangeas! I would put the armoire at an angle in the corner and put something big and colorful on top. You could buy a cheap vase from Goodwill and spray paint it. Or you could use a regular sized vase and put sticks in it. I haven't quite posted my dining room yet but when I do you'll have to check it out because I use sticks a lot.
Also, I love the pictures of you children in your last post. Thy are so full of life!
LOve this.
Makes me think I need to give my dining room an update. LOL
I am in love with that armoire....just beautiful. Your room is lovely ! Thanks for sharing!
I agree with everyone, the armoire is gorgeous! And I also think it would really accentuate it to place an eye-catching display on top...perhaps a birdcage & I also like the idea of a vase with sticks...or more of those wonderful dried hydrangeas! For the inside, could you do shelves, perhaps stained to match or painted a fun color & then use it to house some of your pretty china or serving pieces? And you could still keep some toys there, just trade out the bins for pretty matching baskets?
Thanks so much for the tour...it is a lovely room!
I was too busy checking out your dining room before, but your blog background & header are beautiful, too! Did you design them yourself?
Thanks for visiting my blog, too!
I love your dining room-the colors are gorgeous. You have such a cute family!!
