Blog Secrets

Okay, I have had some people ask how to do what I did to make my pics bigger and how to get a signature on the end of my posts.  Both are not too difficult to achieve and I actually found how to do both just by googling....so if what I say is too confusing then just google yourself!

For the signature...go to My Live Signature
-just follow their directions to make your signature and then grab the hotmail (html) code.
-Now come back to your blog dashboard and click on settings...then click on formatting and at the bottom of that copy your html code into the place that says Post Template.  Easy Peasy! Your signature will automatically come up in every post, just don't forget to add your post and pictures above it!

For bigger pictures on your blog...
-This is a little trickier and might require some patience and tweaking your particular blog.
-I changed my template to a minima stretch template and then changed the pixels in the header wrapper, main wrapper, and outer wrapper in the html codes (I think i went with 880 on the header and wrapper and 600 or so on the main wrapper).  You have to do this to make more room on your layout for the bigger pictures (blogger only allows pictures 400 pixels wide to be posted unless you change it in the html codes).  So, be careful if you have a free background on your blog, because their layouts are probably not formatted for these widths.
-And now I upload my pictures to a Flickr account and copy the html code for each picture into my post (under the edit html option).  A bonus to that is you can put the pictures in the order you want them:) and they come out bigger!

Other Stuff...
I get my backgrounds from online scrapbooking paper and then I have to do this html code stuff to that too (don't think I can explain that on here coherently) and make my headers in microsoft publisher.  I'm lusting after Photoshop but until I can get that,  publisher will have to do!

Have fun!!!!!!  Just don't copy my background:) Ha!!! Oh, and if anyone needs help, I would be glad to try some stuff for you, it just might take several days.

Be warned...it can take some time to figure this all out but if you are like me, I don't mind because this blog is my creative outlet (unless of course I am rearranging furniture, sewing or painting:)).

THANKS!!!! Just yesterday I was making myself crazy trying to tweak my 'free background' because I wanted it wider. I had no idea what I was doing... and I didn't really figure it out. AND, I was also trying to get my pics bigger. How did you know!?!?! HA!
Thanks a bunch!
Is there a good resource for figuring out the HTML mystery for making your own backgrounds and such?
THANKS!

Ok, I know you've said it before, but I can't remember the program you use to edit your pictures. I got a new camera a few months back and wanted to download the free trial that you talked about a few weeks back... what was it called again? :)
