First Birthday Party Brunch

Y'all know I love to plan a party!
I know that babies don't remember their first birthday, but I think it is such a milestone and such a fun party to plan!  So, I had a blast doing a little first birthday party brunch for Anna Mitchell last weekend.  We are so excited to have made it through the first year and we love our little girl so much!   We kept the party to mostly family and adult friends.  We had a few other kids, but I didn't want it to be a wild party.  I wanted it to just be an enjoyable party with Annie at the center of course:).

Cakes are from Publix, mini chalk boards and banner materials from Hobby Lobby.  I was so excited to get the last bolt of that pink burlap:)!

cute little birthday girl!

I love chalkboard art right now and I had fun making a few for her party.  I also loved my instagram banner of Annie's first year.  I used mpix.com to print off my instagram pics.  My friend has a Silhouette Cameo and she helped my cute out the squares for the banner.  I wish I had one!

Party guests!  I always manage to leave someone out and in this case, I left out Aunt Jenny and Uncle Buddy. Sorry guys!

I saw the baby jar favor idea on another blog.  Super easy and super cute!

The entire brunch table

muffins with cute toppers I made to match the invitation

The highlight of first birthdays is always the smash cake of course!  We had so much fun watching Anna Mitchell make the biggest mess.  I think she had fun too!

12 Months Old

Happy Happy Birthday to our precious Anna Mitchell!
newborn on left and one year old on the right

It's so crazy how much babies change their first year!

Annie, you are ONE YEAR OLD!!!
I can hardly believe we have made it to this day!
12 months ago you entered our world, and it's been chaotic joy ever since!

You have your first cold on your birthday and it's been so sad:(.
I sort of felt like you were a newborn again with all the night waking.
I feel so bad for you feeling so bad.  I am thankful though that for the most part you have had a VERY healthy first year of life!

Just this past week, you started WALKING!
Each day you do it more and more and it's so cute!
You just cut your 7th tooth.
You love to give kisses and hugs and you are still very very busy.
You try to say Uh-oh and Bye-bye.
You say Da-Da and Ma-Ma a lot but not sure you know exactly what they mean.
I think you are an extrovert.  You really love people and don't seem to be too shy yet.

I thought this was a hilarious face.  This is what you did when you saw our neighbors cat.  You love animals and just go crazy when you see one!  I think we need to make a trip to the zoo soon:).
We had your birthday party and I can't wait to post pics of that.  I think you had fun despite your cold.

Annie, the past 12 months have been so crazy...but we are so thankful for the gift of your life.
We are so thankful that the Lord saw fit to bless us with you.  We think you are pretty special and can't wait to watch you to continue to grow and develop!

Let's look at how you grew your first 12 months...

SNOW DAY!!!!!

This post doesn't warrent many words. I'll let the pics do the talking:).

We had a rare treat on Thursday and had between 2-3 inches of snow.  So I made Jeff come home early and check the big kids out of school so we could enjoy it! It was beautiful thick big flakes and we were sooooo excited! Snow in Tuscaloosa is a BIG deal!

One Last Christmas Post

With all the craziness from Passion and the coming home and getting back into the swing of our normal schedule, I never got a chance to post about Christmas with my family.   I don't want to neglect that as we had a wonderful time as usual celebrating with my parents, brother and sister in law.  We didn't go to Atlanta until a few days after Christmas.  We have now realized that we really NEED to stay home as much as possible over the holidays.  It is stressful enough with 4 children and school parties and everything else that goes on.  Traveling with children is tough.  Thankfully our families understand this:).

I totally have Silhouette Cameo envy now.  How cute are these tags Erin made with her Cameo?!

In addition to exchanging presents, we ate lots of yummy food, played a lot and more.  Mom and I also got to finally take the girls to the American Girl doll store.  I think I had more fun than they did though!  Thanks to our sweet grandmothers Christmas generosity, the girls picked out a set of Itty Bitty Baby twins to bring home.  They are so in love with their dolls!

 A few phone pics...

cooking with Aunt Erin

We also got in a quick visit with my Uncle Mickey and Aunt Susie who had not met the baby yet.

I think that does it.  Not pictured is that my camera broke in the midst of all this.  My Nikon D60 was so good to me.  I was able to get a new one with my Christmas money and I'm still learning about it.  I'm excited about it but sort of missing my first DSLR:).   I better figure it out because we have a certain someones FIRST BIRTHDAY party this weekend!!!
