The Greatest Show on Earth!

Saturday, my parents treated us with a trip to the circus!!!!!! Thanks mom and dad for such a fun time! We all really enjoyed the show. It really is amazing all the things they do. There was even a duo of guys from Ukraine who did some pretty amazing strength acrobatic type stuff. Abigail got bored but we kept her pretty entertained with all sorts of snacks. Ellie Kate also got bored near the end, but everyone's favorite part was the elephants. They were amazing! Well, Samuel also liked the pirates that came out and did some cool flips and tricks.

since when did my kids get so big???

Before the show started, they let you come down on the main floor to "meet" all the cast and crew. It was really fun to see them up close!

Kelly Anne the elephant painting....AMAZING!!!

the show begins!!!

yes, our 14th month old ate cotton candy...and of course LOVED it

the pirates

And of course, the elephants. Man, those animals are COOL!

Since I Don't Want To Forget

I'm going to write down (scratch that...type out) 2 funny quotes that Ellie Kate has said in the past few days. I really want to be better about writing/blogging the things my kids say and not just their pictures.

So, the other night, I was holding Ellie Kate and we were singing before bed. She points to my eyebrows and says... "You got big ones."

Clearly, it's time for me to pluck my eyebrows, or better - get them waxed.

Then tonight (again at bedtime) I put her in the bed and was kissing her along with all the other gazillion animals that are in the bed with her. She gave me her bear that has been named Mama Bear and I gave it a hug and kissed it.

Me: I love Mama Bear, Ellie Kate. She is so soft!
EK: like you Mommy!

Well, it's a good thing I have started doing P90x is all I can say about that!

Monkeys on the Bed!

I always thought Ellie Kate was pretty brave and she never has much fear when it comes to climbing and jumping off things and she is actually pretty athletic already. Well, my little Abby is turning out to be even more of a monkey than her sister! She started climbing stuff a few weeks ago. And just this past week, she mastered the Chic-fil-A jungle gym all by herself (slide and everything)! A few days ago, the girls were playing in Ellie Kate's room and I walked out for a minute. When I came back in, Abigail was up on the bed. I had no idea how she had gotten up there until I realized she probably climbed up via the green chair at the end of the bed...because that is how EK gets up there. Sure enough, I put her down on the floor and after a little fit, she did it again and thought it was the most fun ever!!!!

A Freebie for You!!!!!!

I had a friend ask me to come up with a little valentine for her boys. I had already been wanting to do one for Ellie Kate and Samuel too so I got to work yesterday during naptime. I LOVE valentines day because I love pink and I love candy!!!! The little valentines were so fun and so easy to make that I decided to share them with you and let you be able to download them as a PDF file to use however you like!!!! Isn't that nice of me?:)

Here they are individually...

On the PDF file, there are 4 to a page. I printed them out on white cardstock paper at home (I have a decent printer, but it's nothing special). So, here are the links to both files. Have fun!!!

The only think I ask is that if you do download them, leave me a comment and let me know (even if you have never left a comment in your life)! Also, if you want to link to this post on your blog...that's fine too:). I'm in a sharing mood today!

Tidbits

With all the cool rainy weather lately the kids have been coloring and painting a lot. Samuel has gotten so much better at drawing. I love this pic he did that has all of our family members including Pepper, the cat.

And Ellie Kate wrote her name for the first time (well, the Ellie part anyway)! She was so proud. Ellie Kate loves to sit at the table and pretend she is writing while I work on Samuel's homework with him everyday. I wrote her name out and she copied it pretty well I must say. It's nice that she has a relatively easy name to spell too:)

my writing is on top and her copy is at the bottom...

More proof that Ellie Kate is a little momma in the making...vacuuming with a baby on her hip:)

I've been wanting to freshen up our bedroom for awhile now, but just haven't had the money in the budget to do what I wanted. I got tired of the dark curtains and bedding. A few weeks ago Target had this modern quilt set on sale for $25 that included the quilt and shams! That's a deal for a king size set. At first I wasn't sure how I liked such a bright green, but I feel like it has freshened up our room and given it the makeover it needed for not much money. I mean, it's still not exactly what I want, but it will do for now. I took down the dark curtains and found some I already had in our linen closet and changed those out.

this was the before in case you were wondering

And this is where we spend a lot of time lately...

The kitchen set that Santa brought has truly been a big hit in our house! Even Samuel loves to play with it. The girls will play in this spot alone sometimes for over an hour in the afternoon. They both will sit and read and look through books and then play with the kitchen stuff. I love that because it enables me to straighten up in the other rooms or put away clean laundry uninterrupted or do Samuel's homework with him while they play.

The last few weeks, I have been on a cleaning/organizing rampage. I get so sick and tired of every closet, every shelf, every drawer being a complete mess. Life just feels so much better when things are organized and cleaned out. One thing I went ahead and did was go through all the kids spring/summer clothes from last year. This is just from the girls that I am going to consign and I kept my favorites to hand down. I hate that they have so many clothes...and sometimes they were never even worn!!!

Some other random thoughts/happenings...

Jeff and I started P90x this week. It's kicking my butt...in a good way. I need to get in shape bad and it has been "fun" to work out with my hubby! We started the week by getting up early before the kids but I literally couldn't handle it. So, now we are going to try our workouts some at night. We did one last night (I know, don't we lead an exciting life to be working out on Friday night? Ha!) and it was so much better!!! Sleeping "in" until 7 am had never felt so good:)

I guess it was a slow news day on Friday, but as I was unloading the dishwasher during the girls naps, I turned on Fox News. I like to catch up on what's going on news wise every now and then. Well, they were all into this dog rescue out in L.A. Maybe it's because I'm not what you would call a dog lover, but I was like "seriously?" It was a bit much. I think Shep realized it was a bit crazy to keep going to the live rescue effort (the dog was caught in a river or something) but still, he did it anyway.

Exciting times around here, huh?!!

Oh, and I have finished a couple of blogs this month (I already have a pretty good wait list). It's been fun getting back to doing them! I really do love it! You can click on the headers below to visit their blogs...

It Was About Time

...that the weather warm up!!!! I definitely could NOT live in the north. The 2-3 weeks of crazy cold temps was enough for me. Yesterday, it was a warm 50 something degrees so we headed outside after naps. Another reason I love the outdoors is that it makes my pictures so much better!!! I much prefer natural light:). Anyway, the kids had so much fun swinging and playing in the sand and I took a ton of pics. Here are my favs...
